Polka Dot and Chevron Pumpkins

While passing out candy to trick-or-treaters I jazzed up these pumpkins a bit.

I used the sponge pictured on the left to stamp Elmer's glue onto the pumpkin, dusted on glitter, and brushed off the excess using the paint brush on the right.

I had a tough time deciding where to put them...and since they will certainly be sticking around through Thanksgiving, I am sure this wont be their final home.

I liked them outside as well.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Peacock Costume

This was one of my favorite costumes ever! One of my favorite fashionistas and I decided to be peacocks and each took our own approach on the final look. We order beautiful real peacock feathers online, (which can be found on most flower supply sites) laid them out to form a fan and used clear packing tape to keep in the feathers in place. I then stuck mine into the belt I was wearing so it could be easily removed if need be. Getting into a cab with feathers sticking out of your back can be quite a feat.

We also had tulle tutu's that we initially thought we would wear around our waist, but decided instead to fold in half and wear on the lower back, to appear as under feathers.

Happy Halloween!

Fall Sugar Cookies

Found some time this week to roll out sugar cookie dough I had made a few weeks ago. This was however a two night process.

Night one involved rolling out the dough, cutting and baking. I cannot recommend this small cookie spatula enough. It is the perfect size for baking.

Two Tips: 1. Line baking sheets with parchment paper, which means easy clean up and keeps the cookies from potentially sticking. 2. Cool cookies on a cooling rack almost immediately after removing from oven so that they don't continue to bake on the hot baking sheet.

Night two was decorating. Plenty to share with family and friends!

Bon appetit!

Custom Etched Tumblers

Buying gifts for men can be tricky sometimes and it can be tough to get creative. I stumbled upon this idea on Etsy. I was able customize both the side and bottom of the glass. Cheers!

Fall Arrangement

The past few weekends I have taken advantage of fall in New England. After picking up a few gourds at a country store during a trip to go apple picking and collecting bittersweet while home for the weekend, I arranged the two on my dining room table to add some fall flair.
